About Nathaniel Coffey, LCSW

Nathaniel Coffey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who supports adolescents and adults as they navigate emotional, relational, and life challenges in an increasingly fast-paced and digital world. His therapeutic style is authentic, direct, and deeply compassionate, helping clients feel safe, understood, and supported from the very first session.

Nathaniel works from an evidence-based and relational framework, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, mentalization-based treatment, and interpersonal therapy. He helps clients develop insight, emotional regulation skills, and resilience, while supporting them in building a stronger sense of identity, meaning, and purpose. At the core of his work is the belief that lasting change occurs when individuals feel genuinely understood within a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship.

While Nathaniel has experience treating a wide range of mental health concerns, he specializes in anxiety, depression, and trauma. He has also developed a focus on behavioral addictions, including screen addiction and video game addiction, helping clients build a healthier and more intentional relationship with technology.
Nathaniel has extensive experience facilitating group therapy and believes that group experiences can be profoundly healing. He has experience leading emotional support groups and has specialized training in incorporating tabletop role-playing games, such as Dungeons & Dragons, into group therapy. These groups provide a structured and collaborative space for clients to build social skills, explore identity, and practice new ways of relating to others.

Nathaniel tailors treatment to each client’s developmental stage, strengths, and goals, whether working with adolescents navigating identity and emotional regulation, or adults facing transitions, relationship challenges, or emotional distress.
