Abigail (“Abby”) Schoenberg is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to supporting individuals and families as they navigate their journeys of healing and growth. About Abigail Schoenberg, M.A., LMFT

Abby utilizes an integrative approach to therapy, blending elements of psychodynamic, narrative, relational, and client-centered modalities. Her treatment is always individualized, taking into account the biological, psychological, and socio-environmental factors unique to each client. While her work is grounded in a psychodynamic framework, she also incorporates evidence-based practices such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, play therapy, and Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET) when appropriate.
A trauma and grief specialist, Abby helps both children and adults reclaim their lives in the aftermath of challenging experiences. She has significant expertise in addressing anxiety and depressive disorders across all ages, as well as working with couples to enhance communication and connection. Abby’s subspecialties include:

  • Supporting individuals recovering from abuse or family conflict.
  • Strengthening parent-child relationships.
  • Addressing grief and loss, including expertise in child loss.
  • Promoting self-esteem and identity formation.

 

Abby’s educational journey began at Harvard University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Visual and Environmental Studies with a minor in English and American Literature. She later pursued her passion for mental health by completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, specializing in Psychological Trauma Studies. Abby has years of experience in community mental health and has worked extensively with children and young adults in foster care.
