Erica Jenkins is a dual board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with more than a decade of advanced clinical experience caring for individuals with complex psychiatric and medical needs. Her background spans outpatient psychiatry, adolescent and adult mental health care, psychiatric urgent care, geriatric practice, and interdisciplinary clinical training.
Erica completed specialized psychiatric training through the UC LEND Program, an interdisciplinary initiative focused on improving outcomes for individuals with neurodevelopmental and related conditions. She also trained in a 24-hour psychiatric urgent care setting at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where she worked with individuals presenting in acute psychiatric crisis. In addition, she has trained alongside a board-certified psychoanalytic psychologist, participating in psychological evaluations and collaborative treatment planning for patients with complex presentations
Her clinical approach emphasizes careful assessment, diagnostic clarity, and longitudinal treatment planning. Erica is known for her measured, evidence-based approach to prescribing and her ability to thoughtfully integrate supportive psychotherapy into medication visits. She is particularly attentive to developmental factors, family dynamics, and the intersection of mental health with medical and life-stage considerations.
Prior to focusing on psychiatry, Erica practiced for over a decade as a Nurse Practitioner in complex pain management, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams and training medical fellows in academic settings. She continues to serve as a Volunteer Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCLA School of Nursing, mentoring nurse practitioner students and supporting clinical education.
At Mind Study Center, Erica works collaboratively with therapists, psychologists, and families as part of an integrated care model designed to support meaningful, sustained progress. She treats a wide range of conditions, including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, and psychiatric concerns complicated by medical or developmental factors, with a particular interest in adolescent mental health and continuity of care.
